Running a comedy club on software

A website that takes enquiries, a finance app for every vertical, and a box-office app that captures the audience ticketing platforms keep to themselves.

The problem

A comedy club runs three shows a night. Tickets come from BookMyShow, District and the door. Cash changes hands. Artists get paid on different deals: a flat fee, a revenue share, a rental. Expenses get claimed over WhatsApp. And the ticketing platforms don’t share who actually came.

All of it lived in chats, notebooks and someone’s memory.

What I built

The website. Artist pages, the club, bookings and a journal, all editable by the team without touching code. Every enquiry is stored and emailed to the right person.

Hideout Internal. A phone-friendly finance app with a section for every part of the business: lineup shows, club shows, recordings, editing, corporate events. Owners, vertical leads, the box office and members each see only their own part. Expense claims go from claim to approval to UPI payout in one place.

The box office. A phone app for the door. Staff log every guest and where their ticket came from, even with no network, and it syncs later. For the first time, the club knows its audience.

“Our website, finance and box office now run smoothly. We finally own our audience data.”
